B220RED

Every time you eat at a restaurant or cook at home some amount of grease and cooking oil makes it's way into the drain. At home, you might wash greasy dishes with hot water and soap. At restaurants, they do the same plus they frequently wash down floors and cooking surfaces. This waste, called FOG (Fats, Oils and Grease) is partially collected by restaurants in grease traps which help to reduce the amount of FOG entering the waste stream, but large quantities still make it through. FOG in it's liquified form makes it's way through sewer lines to a liftstation where the soap and heat that kept it liquified is diluted/cooled. This causes the grease to resolidify downstream from it's source.

In a properly working grease trap, this FOG is vacuumed out regularly and disposed of. In sewer lines, FOG creates blockages. At liftstations, FOG buildup will create large shelves of grease, odor problems and cause pump floats to stick creating additional problems.

There are three common ways to clean a liftstation:

1.) Manually scrape and remove grease shelves.
2.) Reliquify the grease with a chemical solution.
3.) Biodegrade the FOG with B220RED

Option 1 is a labor intensive process that is also hazardous. Grease frequently covers the stairs used to access the liftstation and equipment is often difficult to remove/re-install. Most times the odor is very unpleasant. Removed grease has to be disposed of properly, either by treating it or disposing of it to a landfill. Grease shelves can be hard enough to require breaking up with a shovel.

Option 2 isn't really a solution. While putting the solid FOG into a liquid form does clean the liftstation and/or sewer lines, what we are really doing is moving the problem farther downstream, usually to another liftstation or wastewater treatment plant. Chemicals can be hazardous and require additional chemical safety equipment.

Option 3 is the easy, cost effective solution. B220RED is a bacterial additive with strains of bacteria specifically selected for their ability to biodegrade FOG. Bacteria produce enzymes which liquify the waste. The bacteria then use the liquified waste as a food source. The bacteria process the waste leaving behind a biodegradable substance that won't resolidify, and dead bacteria, that will easily biodegrade. To boost their performance, B220RED also contains a micronutrient. The bacteria in B220RED are naturally occurring and selected for their ability to bio-degrade FOG.

As the liftstation becomes cleaner, the bacteria follow the food source (FOG) and start to clean the sewer lines downstream. We have seen this process taking place 8+ miles downstream!

More than 1,000lbs. of B220RED
water soluble pouches ready to be packaged.

Application is easy. Simply remove a one red and one brown water soluble pouch from the white plastic bag and toss the two pouches into the system. The first pouch dissolves away quickly and the second will dissolve in a few days. This helps to even out the dosage without requiring you to apply product twice.

How does B220RED compare to competitor's products? Looking at just the bacteria first, we frequently see products that claim to be genetically altered. It is illegal to genetically alter bacteria. Any companys that makes this claim are either acting illegally, or is lying about their product. BIO-SYSTEMS selects naturally occuring bacteria for thier waste degrading abilities and then grows these bacteria into high population, high purity products.

Our products are counted by a complex computer system for a specified final count. Because of our efficient computer plating system, we can run four or more plates for every lot# we create which ensures our products leave the door with at least the required bacterial count. The alternative streak method allows for more user error and higher cost per plate. Our competitor's products are not as pure as our products and their 'product count' is frequently made up of bacteria contamination. In other words, 5,000 colonies of a useful bacteria is significantly better than only 1000 of useful bacteria plus 4000 of contamination. When we look at our plates verses the competitor, we frequently find their count is not as advertised or their plate has a wider variety of bacteria than it should have:

When BIO-SYSTEMS' plate count is similar to the competitor our product still works better because it's bacteria are selected and maintained through to the final product giving a higher percentage of usable bacteria. As shown above, a mixed variety of useful/non-useful colony types artificially drives up the plate count of a competitor's final product.

Our packaging is superior to our competitors' packaging in many ways. BIO-SYSTEMS started the water soluble packaging concept in this industry and continues to perfect it today. We offer water soluble packaging for all of our powdered products. Plastic ziplock plastic bags protect the water soluble pouches from accidently getting wet while plastic pails protect everything from impact damage. BIO-SYSTEMS offers a wide variety of packaging options to meet your application needs. If you want a cardboard instead of plastic, we can do that. Private label is no problem.

Because we are the manufacturer, our pricing cannot be beat on equivalent and often better products. B220RED is a very cost effective solution to cleaning and maintaining liftstations and sewer lines when you consider:

  Low initial product cost.
No more manual cleaning the liftstation.
No more cleaning stuck floats.
  Reduced odors.
  No disposal costs.
  Reduced safety risk.
Free technical assistance from trained representitives.

Most importantly, B220RED works extremely well when used as directed. The most common cause for product failure is due to the operator not adding the product!
