Grease and Odor Reduction
Case 1
A large shopping center located in the northern section of the capital, boasts the greatest sales in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Due to the large volume of visitors to the mall, they experienced recurring problems with their septic tank as well as clogs within the plumbing system. The tanks had a thick crust of fat which necessitated a weekly cleaning and the use of vacuum trucks. The pipes were also choked with the same grease and build-up. The crust and build-up were accompanied by an overwhelming stench that grew worse on warmer days and during peak shopping times.
In January of 1997, they began to apply Fossaklin in the restrooms and Gorduraklin in about a third of restaurants in attempt to reduce the fat present on the tanks and pipes; thus reducing or eliminating the offensive odors.
In just a few weeks the malodor had disappeared. Within a few months the layer of fat registered in the pipes was already at a safe and manageable level, eliminating the need for the expensive and inconvenient cleaning trucks.
The mall has continued daily use of the products since 1997 and has eliminated their problems with clogged pipes and odor.
Case 2
Located in the eastern region of São Paulo, the shopping center, Aricanduva, is one of the largest malls in Brazil. Their restaurant section developed a problem with their septic tanks, forcing the employees to manually clean the tanks which were located outside the shopping center and extremely clogged with accumulated fats and greases.
After an evaluation, 17 kg of Gorduraklin were applied in the restaurant septic tanks each month. Since the initial application in 2001, the product has significantly increased the efficiency in the residue treatment system. The Gorduraklin has reduced labor costs by reducing frequency of manual cleaning, improving the flow in the pipes, and preventing the frequent clogging incidents which had been common prior to applying the product.
