Problem: An Iowa based municipal waste water treatment plant recieves high BOD loadings from a shampoo manufacturing facility that discharges high amounts of detergents, shampoos, surfactant, and oils. The high levels of these compounds causes excessive foaming, poor settling, poor dewatering as well as filamentious problems.
Solution: BIO-SYSTEMS B350 formulation is used to degrade these compounds and reduce foam and filamentious problems.
Savings one year later:
- Secondary sludge production is down by 5-10%
- Plant recovers faster after an upset
- Dewatering is easier
- Effluent BOD is lower by 15%
