Sewage Contamination Treatment

Using BIOBUG® RED and BIOBUG® WHITE for Bio-Remediation and Rehabilitation of Coniston & Marina Moorings Storm Water Canal leading to Sandvlei lagoon, Marina DaGama 02 -03 February 2008

Sat. 02 Feb 08:

09.40: Advised by B Thomson [CCC Sanitation Water & Waste], by cell phone, that the [Coniston Rd ] Pump Station had overflowed during the night and discharged into the storm water canal. Cause was power outage 21.00 o1 Feb - +-02.40 Sat 02 Feb.

10.05: Arrived on site. Canal contaminated with raw sewage Quantities of floating sewage scum collecting with green algae and floating litter along concrete sides & at the wire refuse catch nets. Strong odor. Strong on shore [SE] wind.

Sewage Treatment 1

Treated with 15kg BIOBUG® RED [sewage] + 25 lt BIOBUG® WHITE [odor] in canal & below refuse nets over a length of +-225m down stream from pipe bridge at Red Roman Close end.

11.45: Reported to CCC B. Thompson per cell phone who requested return visit pm and to monitor.

Sat. 02 Feb 08:
18h15: Revisited site to monitor progress as requested [B.Thomson].

Much improved. Minimal flow. Wind had dropped. Reduced floating sewage on surface and contamination in suspension. Water resembled mushroom soup. [typical of action BIOBUG® RED] Reduced sewage odor.

Treated canal & down stream of nets with 8kg BIOBUG® RED [to degrade suspended sewage ] + 20lt BIOBUG® WHITE [for odor]

Sun. 03 Feb 08:

07h00: Visited site. Great improvement.. No sewage apparent. Water clearing [able to see bottom of canal]. Large amount of floating green algae and litter. No odor
