BIOBUG® HSS

Download full brochure (English)
BIOBUG® HSS is a biological product specifically formulated to save operator time and expense in lift stations or biological wastewater treatment plants. BIOBUG® HSS contains a specially formulated range of adapted high-performance microorganisms developed for use in the biological wastewater treatment of greases, fats and oils.  As well as microorganisms, BIOBUG® HSS contains surface tension depressants and penetrants which loosen and digest heavy grease deposits, thereby assisting in their biodegradation.

BIOBUG® HSS contains a specific nutrient blend to work synergistically with the added and naturally occurring bacteria, to prevent the formation of hydrogen sulfide gas by sulfate reducing bacteria typically found in sewer lines.  This saves in customer complaints and in corrosion damage.

The bacteria contained in BIOBUG® HSS, are capable of generating  a complex of amylases and lipases, that provide the capacity to degrade extra cellular polymers, (which cause foaming), and suppress the growth of the filamentous organisms by affecting the structure of the filaments.

Benefits of BIOBUG® HSS:

  • Controls hydrogen sulfide odors.
  • Enhances BOD and COD removal while improving sludge settlement.
  • Reduces hydrogen sulfide related to corrosion of the sewer lines.
  • Reduces the accumulation of unsightly deposits of fats, oils and greases.
  • Works in the lift station, force main, and gravity main through to the treatment plant or lagoon.

Case History 951

1500 cubic feet of grease had accumulated in the scum pit and 35 cubic feet was being added each week.  Disposal involved manual removal for transporting to a landfill.

A month after adding the our product, operators were beginning to notice subtle improvements in floc formation and in the biological community as a whole.  The 1500 cubic feet of grease accumulation was beginning to degrade and two months later it was gone.

Case History 961

City of Boston, Massachusetts has used product since 1993 for routine, cost effective sewer maintenance.

This product uses BIO-SYSTEMS unique 'water soluble pouch' system to make dosing hassle free. No mess, no hassle, no bother...

Typical packaging is individual water soluble pouches packagedinto a protective and resealable plastic bag. There are 25 plastic bags per container. You can specify your container as a plastic pail with resealable lid, or a cardboard box for easy disposal.
